MY STORY
Sara Sheridan is an independent journalist and postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University. She covers breaking news and the intersection of technology, media & democracy through a combination of data investigation and narrative writing.
She received her M.S. in Journalism from Columbia Journalism School, where she focused on data reporting, audio production, and longform narrative writing. Her first foray into reporting centered around food and restaurants in New York City. The Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting awarded her a Postgraduate Reporting Fellowship based on her work covering fine dining across the U.S. amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Sara holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Political Science from Northeastern University. Her most powerful education, though, comes from her decade of work in the restaurant industry. She proudly hails from Philadelphia, where her most recent work on local protests against police brutality and the Presidential election was featured in The Daily Beast.
